Construction Managers supervise every aspect of a construction project, including the planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating of the activities involved in the project.
Education
A four-year bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, architecture, or a related field is generally required for one to obtain this position.
Future Outlook
Employment of construction managers is projected to grow 8 percent from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all occupations. Construction managers are expected to be needed as overall construction activity expands.
Work Environment
Construction Managers work for construction and engineering companies. Construction managers may work out of a main office as well as an office at the construction site. They may travel between multiple construction sites. They may also be required to work many hours because of tight deadlines.
